Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Dose-Alert easy to use? Yes. All Dose-Alert functions are controlled by just one simple button. Each Dose-Alert device comes with a user-friendly instruction sheet that makes it easy to activate and use the device.

How does the Dose-Alert let me know it’s time to take my pill? The Dose-Alert beeps loudly twenty times when it is time to take your pill. One press of the Start/Reset button sets  the timer back to zero and starts the timer counting upward, minute by minute, to the next dosing alert.

Can I adjust the alarm interval? Yes. Just hold the Start/Reset button down for five seconds. The alarm interval on the timer will flash and then begin to rotate from one (1) to twenty-four (24) hours until you release the button. When your new alarm interval choice appears on the timer, simply release the Start/Reset button. Now your Dose-Alert is reset and will beep at the new alarm interval.

Is the Dose-Alert portable? Yes. The small, light-weight Dose-Alert measures 1½-inch in diameter by ½-inch in thickness, weighs less than half an ounce and is contained in a sturdy plastic casing. The Dose-Alert conveniently fits in a pocket, purse or other small storage space.

Can I affix the Dose-Alert to my pill bottle cap? Yes. By peeling the protective cover off the adhesive backing, the Dose-Alert can be affixed permanently to the top of almost any pill bottle cap.

If the alarm beeps and I don’t press the reset button, will the Dose-Alert still work? Yes. Your Dose-Alert will continue counting upward and the alarm will beep again at the next alarm interval. For example, if your alarm is set to beep once a day (once every 24 hours) and you do not press the Start/Reset button when the Dose-Alert reaches 24 hours, then the device will continue counting upward and at 48 hours the alarm will beep again.

Can I reset the Dose-Alert before the current alarm interval is up? Yes. Simply hold the Start/Reset button down for five seconds to reset the device to a new alarm interval.

What if I take two medications, can the Dose-Alert work for me? Yes. If the dosing of the pills are within the same time interval (for example, one pill is taken once-a-day and the second is taken twice-a-day) then the Dose-Alert alarm interval would be set for 12 hours. The twice-a-day pill would be taken each time the alarm beeped while the once-a-day pill would be taken with every other alarm. If the two pills have different dosing intervals, then it is recommended that two affordable Dose-Alert devices be purchased, with a device affixed to each pill bottle cap.

Can I shut the alarm off? Yes. The Dose-Alert can be turned off easily by opening the battery compartment on the side of the device and removing the battery. The device can be turned back on just as easily by returning the battery to its compartment.

Do I need to purchase a battery when I purchase the Dose-Alert device? No. The battery is included inside the device.

How long does the battery last? The battery lasts for one year, at which time it is easily replaceable.

Do you guarantee your product? Yes.  Each Dose-Alert device comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If your are dissatisfied with your Dose-Alert for any reason, simply return the Dose-Alert along with the register receipt to Pharmaceutical Direct within 30 days of purchase to receive a full refund.
